Raissa Prosperine Irakoze, a 34-year-old Burundian, shares her joy as she reflects on the path that began in 2019 with an internship at Cefalù's Giglio. This journey led to a bachelor's degree in radiological health technology in Palermo, followed by a master's degree in Messina.
The culmination of this endeavor, she exclaims, is the signing of her indefinite contract - a dream realized. The contract was officially sealed in Cefalù today with the president of the Giglio Foundation, Giovanni Albano.
"We are very pleased and satisfied," Albano emphasized, "to have supported Raissa's professional growth. We have followed her every step of the way, and today she is seamlessly integrated into our group, becoming a part of the Giglio family."
Raissa arrived in Italy as a university student through the Aiutiamo il Burundi association. "It was an opportunity presented to me, and I seized it," she affirmed. "Today, I am grateful to all who supported me. My thoughts are always with my home country, where I hope to return and assist others. There, I left my boyfriend, who is completing his studies, and I dream of marrying him in Bujumbura, inviting our Italian friends."
The indefinite contract was also signed by nurse Serena Longo, a Leccese native who has been with the internal medicine team in Cefalù for two years.
