Corleone's International Documentation Center Embraces Technology and Expands Exhibits

 Corleone's International Documentation Center on the Mafia and the Anti-Mafia Movement is embracing technology while simultaneously launching two new ventures within the city.

Thanks to the financial resources provided by the Gal Terre Normanne, three rooms have been set up on the ground floor to enhance the museum experience, which not only retains its essence but becomes more modern and captivating.

The Center has placed a significant emphasis on technological innovation and has equipped itself with a conference room fitted with state-of-the-art support technology. The new museum journey begins with the birth of Corleone, showcasing photographs of the city, its most distinctive places, distinguished figures, and artistic, environmental, and monumental excellences both within the city and in the hamlet of Ficuzza. In the second room, the origins of the Mafia in Corleone are traced through images, featuring key figures in the anti-Mafia movement, starting with the informants who accused Luciano Liggio and his associates, giving rise to the "Bari trial". It also delves into how cinema and literature have depicted the Mafia over the past sixty years. A dedicated space is also reserved for the women (mothers, sisters, and wives) of trade unionists who fell victim to the Mafia's hand.

In the third room, with the installation of projectors casting images onto the walls, an engaging and immersive video narrates significant episodes in the fight against the Mafia, captivating the visitor's attention. This transformative upgrade brings a renewed vibrancy to the vital narrative of Corleone's ongoing struggle against organized crime.
